High Heels, Art Sonje Center, installation view

Unique
The title of the project High Heels derives from a Turkish literature classic, a short story (Yüksek Ökçeler, or High Heels in English) written by Ömer Seyfettin (1884-1920) that is about reflecting the critical voice. Through intelligent satire and humor, the story conveys the message that "We know our problems, but we do not want to face it, so we avoid it." High Heels is derived from a project about "the humans self-disappearance in their own illusions through the act of creation". The work uses condom as a metaphor to depict the phallic competition of the highest building in the world. The work shows the city line with images of the specific skyscrapers (such as financial centers or One57condominium residences in NYC, nicknamed 'The Billionaire Building'). The condoms with drawn buildings are displayed on the objects (condom molds). The whole installation is placed on the big floating laboratory table (looking like a light box) in space.
