'Graft’ is a horticultural term for combining one plant with another. Graft also means ‘hard work’. In these new sculptures I ‘graft’ together my signature organic and inorganic materials – live-edge Plexiglas and wood – to create a work that both mirrors my own height and reflects the viewer. In this, Graft 2 suggests the work it takes to bring together different aspects of self; to connect with our own and another’s human nature.
