Ayten Turanli is a ceramicist who also creates large-scale sculptural installations.
Turanli has had numerous solo-exhibitions, which include Cobblestones (2010) at Pi Artworks Istanbul; Deviation II (2007) at the Ataturk Cultural Centre, Istanbul; and Ideological II (2006) at Green Gallery, Bodrum. She has participated in art fairs such as Contemporary Istanbul, Art Bosphorus Contemporary Art Fair, and Art Istanbul, and group exhibitions in Serbia, Greece, Egypt, France, and the USA. In 2002 Turanli was awarded the Special Prize at the 6th Cairo International Biennale for Ceramics. She currently works as the Pi Artworks Ceramic Department Instructor and Director. Turanli studied ceramics in the USA, first at the George Washington University, Washington, and then at the Clayworks Ceramics Studio, Baltimore.
